Tropical Contemporary presents Pep Abysmal, a solo show by Dave MacGougan. This 3-week exhibition of paintings, drawings, and installed environments suggests a hovering, intermediary space between gallery and studio. Visitors are invited to visit more than once, as the on-site production and arrangement of new work by the artist will continue throughout the show’s run.
Dave MacGougan has exhibited his work in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Chicago, and Portland, notably in the Portland 2016 Biennial Salon. He has led drawing seminars at Clark College and PNCA. He received his BFA Magna Cum Laude from Hartford Art School in 2003 and lives in Seal Rock, Oregon.
The opening reception for Pep Abysmal will be on Friday, January 5th from 6-9pm. The work will be on view January 5th-20th, with open hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5pm. This exhibition can also be viewed by appointment.
